Sharon began her dance training at the age of three, and was performing professionally prior to high school. She has entertained on stage, in film and television, and modeled in fashion and print. She majored in theatre and dance in college, and opened her first dance studio in Lewisville while a high school junior. Sharon performed for four years in shows with Six Flags in Texas and Georgia, and then returned to choreograph and direct shows for Six Flags in Texas, Missouri, and New Jersey. She also choreographed shows for Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. Throughout the U.S., Sharon has performed, directed, or choreographed countless industrial shows, musical theatre productions, television commercials, beauty pageants, films, music videos, and fashion shows. She assisted the famous magician, Mark Wilson, while working with his Hollywood production company, and studied dance and film acting with professionals in Los Angeles, before returning to Texas to re-open Top Hat Dance Centre in 1974.
Sharon has judged dance competitions throughout the U.S., for both Starlight and Odyssey, and returns to L.A. or New York each year to train in class with professional choreographers. She has taught master classes in jazz technique to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and has worked with the producers of “Barney” for the television series and video series.
Sharon created “Gotta Dance!” in 1985, a THDCI senior performing company, and produces theme shows for corporate events. A large percentage of the graduates of this dance company are now all over the world, performing with name entertainers, in musicals on Broadway and in touring companies, in television and feature films, on cruise ships, and in stage shows. Her dancers have consistently been accepted to professional internships and scholarships in L.A. and New York. Her dancers, as well as her choreography have won top honors in dance competitions, with her students being awarded thousands of dollars in convention and training scholarships.
Sharon, as THDCI’s Artistic Director, continually gives her students new opportunities for the best training available, concentrating on professionalism, not only on stage, but also in attitude and relationships.
