Alexis Smith Burris

Alexis began her dance training in Massachusetts at the age of two. Shortly thereafter she also began training as a singer and actress. She has appeared in over thirty national radio and television commercials for products such as Jello Pudding, Florida Orange Juice, Kodak, Iberia Airlines, Wisk, and the “Don’t Dump on New York” Campaign. She has also performed in numerous musical theatre productions including the original Off-Broadway show, “Hollywood Snapshots”, and she was an original member of the New York based cabaret group, “Kids of The Moon”.

Alexis earned a BFA in Acting at Emerson College in Boston prior to moving to Los Angeles in 1994. She continued her study in LA while working as an assistant talent agent for three different talent agencies for commercials, film, TV and theatre. Also while in LA, Alexis enjoyed working as a producer of several cabaret shows, and as a voice-over actor and “scratch” artist with James Woods, Hal Holbrook, Bobcat Goldthwait, and Matt Frewer (Max Headroom) for the Disney film, “Hercules”.

Alexis’ strong dance background has proved to be an important asset in all performance arenas. Over the years she has studied extensively with well-known dance instructors such as Frank Hatchett, Phil Black, Henry LeTang, and Jim Taylor to name a few.

In 2000, Alexis and Blayde not only married eachother, but also joined together two theatrical families who share their love of performing. Alexis is happy to join the staff at THDCI.
